Accessing the Doorway of Heaven - Ordinary People Living Supernatural Lives

Updated: Aug 22, 2019

“Lift up your heads, O gates, And be lifted up, O ancient doors, That the King of glory may come in!” Psalm 24:7

Would you believe me if I told you there was a doorway to heaven? Would you say it is impossible for us to access heaven and impossible for heavenly beings to access our lives?

Well, I would love to show you there is indeed a doorway to heaven and by it, we can enter into the the heavenly realm and the heavenly realm has access into our common earthly lives.

There once was a man named Jacob (son of Isaac, son of Abraham) It happened one time, as he was traveling, he became very tired and he laid his head on a rock and went to sleep. As he slept, he had a dream in which he saw the angels

of heaven ascending and descending on a ladder. From the top of the ladder, the Lord speaks to Jacob to let him know that He was giving this land to Jacob's descendants and to let Jacob know, He would be with him wherever he went and He would bring Jacob back to that place.

Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” (Genesis 28:16,17) We all know the story of how God Himself wrote the 10 commandments that were given to Moses! Also, in Exodus 24:18, Moses ascends on Mount Sinai for a period of 6 days.

On the 7th day, Moses actually enters the cloud and is not seen again for 40 days and 40 nights! It was during the time Moses spent in the cloud that he was given the pattern of the tabernacle – the pattern that man would use to be able to come into the presence of the Lord! The bible says that after Moses was in the presence of the Lord, his face would shine with the glory of God. He even wore a veil to conceal the glory as it would fade.

In 1 Kings 19:8, we find that Mount Horeb is called the “Mountain of God”. Elijah was a prophet who was running from an evil queen Jezebel. He was running for his life and he came to rest under a tree in the wilderness. It was there in the wilderness, the Lord sent angels to feed him and give him drink. From that angelic provision, Elijah was able to travel for

40 days and 40 nights until he reached Mount Horeb. The Lord instructed him to go and stand on the mountain. It was at this time, the Lord gave Elijah specific instructions concerning events that were going to take place in Israel. Elijah never died but went in a chariot to be with the Lord. The book of Hebrews reminds us that Elijah was just an ordinary person, like us! When Jesus was alive on the earth, we find that portal experiences were not unusual. One time Jesus was on top of a mountain with Peter, James and John to the top of a mountain. On the mountain, the very appearance of Jesus was changed. His face began to shine like the sun and His clothing became white as light.

And there, Moses and Elijah appeared and were talking to Jesus! A voice from heaven came from a cloud saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.

We also find Jesus speaking to a man named Nathaniel. Jesus was able to explain to Nathaniel that He had seen Nathaniel was sitting under a fig tree before he came to speak Jesus. Nathaniel was amazed at this supernatural knowledge Jesus had. Jesus goes on to explain to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” (John 1:50)

Let's see what else Jesus had to say about this in the following scriptures:

John 10:7-9 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

Through sin, man's fellowship with a Holy God was brought to

a complete stop. Through Jesus, our sin can be washed away by the blood He shed for us on the cross and our fellowship with the Father is restored! The portals of heaven are also restored and we can have instant access to the throne of God Himself!

Just as the angels ascended and descended upon Jesus when He walked on the earth – it's the same with us when we receive Christ to be the Lord of our life! The angels of God will ascend and descend into our ordinary lives for protection, provision and to carry out heavenly assignments.

Likewise, we will be able to “go out and come in” (John 10:7-9) as we learn to rest in the presence of the Lord! We will find that we can go directly into the throne room of God as we “come boldly before the throne of grace to find help in our times of need”! Just as those saints that came before us, we will be His sheep and His sheep know His voice!

Paul even said the following:

"I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows— how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." (2 Corinthians Chapter 12)

Yes Friends! The Lord is knocking even now at the doors of our hearts. He wants to come into our lives and remove the sin that has separated us from Him! He wants to restore

unbroken fellowship with the Father. Ask Him to come into your life and wash sin away from you so that you can access the very throne room of heaven! He will write your name in the Lamb's Book of Life and the angels will rejoice as the doorway of heaven is opened to you!

Are you a Christian who doesn't feel like heaven has been opened to you in a tangible way? None of us live in a glory cloud all the time! But to re-establish a life of supernatural expectancy in the Lord - Pray and ask the Lord to remove any blockages in your spiritual life. Do you have ongoing sin or generational bondages that need to be broken? Is your heart set on financial or worldly blessings? Does your theology accept a form of godliness but denies God's power? Repent of these things!! Draw near to God and He will draw near to you! (James 4:8) The Lord is waiting with open arms to restore His supernatural fellowship with you!
